The Mind Behind ACE’s Toughest Trailers
At ACE, we believe in designing in strength, not guessing. Every roll-off trailer we build starts with a calculation, a diagram, and a vision for improvement. Behind that process is an extraordinary engineer — Meredith Fenander.
Meredith is the force driving ACE’s innovation. With more than 25 years of mechanical and aerospace engineering experience, she brings precision, creativity, and discipline to every project. Her work ensures that ACE trailers aren’t just strong — they’re intelligently engineered to perform for years to come.
From Aerospace to ACE
Before joining ACE, Meredith spent decades solving complex engineering challenges. She began her career at GE Power Systems, working her way from drafter to Design Engineer while earning her Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (University of Akron, Cum Laude).
Later, she joined Aero Fluid Products, designing and testing fluid control components for aircraft and helicopters. In that role, she led a team of engineers, managed multimillion-dollar product lines, and generated more than $2 million in annual new business. She also introduced process improvements that saved the company over $1 million per year.
Those years in aerospace taught Meredith to test, validate, and prove every design. When she joined ACE, she brought that same data-driven mindset — one that values proof over assumption.
Engineering the ACE Advantage
As ACE’s Mechanical Engineering Consultant, Meredith has transformed how our trailers are designed, tested, and produced. She introduced systems that make our engineering faster, safer, and more precise.
For example:
- She helped implement Robotic Welding and CNC programming, enabling ACE to fabricate components in-house. As a result, production time decreased, vendor dependency dropped, and quality improved.
- She redesigned the suspension and stabilizer frame structure, using Finite Element Analysis (FEA), extending trailer life, and maximizing up time.
- She consolidated and updated the Roll-Off Operations Manual, adding illustrated parts lists and clearer maintenance steps to improve customer safety and support.
- Most impressively, she builds prototypes using Solidworks so that she is able to simulate stress analysis and production tolerances, which increase safety and performance.
Every innovation strengthens ACE’s position as a leader in heavy-duty trailer design.
Precision with Purpose
Meredith’s approach to engineering is both technical and practical. She uses SolidWorks Simulation to analyze every design before it reaches production.
“I like to see how forces move through a structure,” she says. “By creating a force diagram, I can understand where stress occurs. Then I verify that every weld, hinge, and beam behaves as expected. You can’t rely on assumptions — you have to prove it.”
That attention to detail defines her work. Every ACE trailer component has been evaluated for load, stress, and performance. As a result, our trailers are not only lighter and stronger — they’re designed to last longer in demanding conditions.
Certified Engineering Excellence
Meredith is a registered Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with the State of Ohio and holds a Six Sigma Green Belt certification. She also has advanced training in Design for Six Sigma.
Her experience with AS9100, ISO 9000, and ASME quality systems ensures ACE designs meet the highest standards. She has led internal audits, written technical reports, and created procedures that make our processes more consistent and efficient.
Because of this, ACE doesn’t just build trailers — we build confidence.
A Leader and Innovator
Beyond technical skill, Meredith leads with mentorship and collaboration. At Aero Fluid Products, she managed an engineering team responsible for more than $80 million in product lines. She guided interns and new engineers, teaching them how to think critically and prioritize safety.
At ACE, that same leadership continues. Meredith works closely with the production and sales teams, translating complex designs into real-world solutions. Her communication bridges departments, ensuring everyone moves toward one goal — building the best roll-off trailers on the market.
Engineering the Future of ACE
Today, Meredith continues to push ACE forward. Her blend of aerospace precision and manufacturing experience gives ACE a powerful advantage.
“She’s the kind of engineer who runs every simulation twice just to be sure,” says one teammate. “And that’s exactly why ACE trailers perform the way they do.”
With Meredith leading innovation, ACE’s trailers are stronger, lighter, and smarter than ever. Her work proves that true strength isn’t just about steel and hydraulics — it’s about the people and principles behind every design.
Meredith Fenander is more than an engineer. She’s the reason ACE continues to set the standard for engineering excellence in the roll-off trailer industry.
